Petrocaribe: integration with social justice

Caracas.- Petrocaribe has marched in parallel with the development of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas (ALBA), said the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez. He stated this as he was reading extracts of the Political Declaration of the Third Petrocaribe Summit of Heads of State and/or Government.

This proposal is marking the new path of integration with social justice. This makes the fair exchange possible and broadens the solidarity among Cuba, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Haiti and Venezuela. This is viable through social programs, such as Mission Miracle, and by spreading the new grandnationals projects for the productive integration of the economies and trade among nations part of these projects.

The ALBA has deserved the recognition of several countries of CARICOM. Thus, in the declaration signed by the Caribbean countries it is stated that from now on “we will shape an open and friendly understanding among our governments with the signatory states of the ALBA and the Trade Treaty among the Peoples,” Chávez declared.

In this Third Petrocaribe Summit “we shall reaffirm that the consolidation of our energy integration is just an instrument of the great strategic political alliance we need to keep building among us all,” he said.

The use of an energy impulse shall allow the advance to superior forms of economic, social and political integration, to transform the Caribbean and Latin-America. This transformation is to take place in the scenario of the multipolar world that is in a configuration process, Chávez said.
