Third OPEC Summit will be held in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.- By the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Adbullah bin Abdul-Aziz, the Minister of Petroleum & Mineral Resources of the Kingdom, Ali bin Ibrahim Al Naimi, has announced that Saudi Arabia  will host the Third OPEC Summit of Heads of State Government on November 17 and 18, 2007 in Riyadh.

The celebration of the Third OPEC Summit represents its member states agreement to hold its cohesion in each of the high level meetings. The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela emphasizes the commitment to maintain its energy policy through the fair prices, rational use of the hydrocarbons and the social, economic and political stability of the exporting countries.

The Third OPEC Summit will address very important issues to countries members and will be a valuable opportunity to give new political alignments for support the OPEC’s role in the world energy balance.

The First OPEC Summit was held in 1975 in Algeria, 25 years later, by the efforts of the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela, the Second Summit was held in Caracas in 2000.

OPEC’s thirteen member States are Angola, Ecuador, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Venezuela.
