November 11 Through 14: Kingdom Familiarization Tours for Journalists

During each of these four days, journalists are invited to choose any of the below four tour programs. We encourage you to register for a tour of your choice each day, so as not to miss any of the fascinating, newsworthy elements. Please indicate your choices in the Remarks section of the online registration form. Each tour will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis

Makkah Province: Ancient and Modern
Tour of PetroRabigh site:
PetroRabigh, a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Sumitomo Chemical of Japan, is the largest integrated refining and petrochemical complex of its kind in the world, slated for completion next year. This visit will include a question-and-answer session with the PetroRabigh CEO

Visit Jiddah Old City and souq:
Jiddah is an ancient trading city juxtaposed with a distinctly modern and cosmopolitan feel. Traditional Hejazi dinner with local music and local citizens of prominence in attendance.

Riyadh Province: Heart of the Kingdom
• Visit the King Abdul-Aziz City for Science & Technology (KACST)

• Visit to SABIC headquarters:

SABIC is now one of the world's fastest-growing petrochemical companies and a major force in the Saudi economy. It is among the world's largest exporters of fertilizers, polymers and chemicals, and the leading steel maker in the Middle East. This visit will include a question-and-answer session with SABIC's CEO

• Tour of Masmak fortress

 A historical site of pivotal importance in the founding of modern-day Saudi Arabia.

• Tours of the King Abdul-Aziz Cultural Center and National Museum

Traditional Nejdi dinner with local music and local citizens of prominence in attendance.

Eastern Province: Global Hydrocarbons Capital

• Tour of Jubail Industrial City:

This is one of Saudi Arabia's two purpose-built industrial centers that serve as powerful drivers of the Kingdom's thriving economy.

• Visit to Saudi Aramco headquarters in Dhahran.

Here you will see the technology that drives the world's largest oil-producing company, including:

• The Oil Supply Planning and Scheduling Center the nerve center of the company's refining and distribution operations.

• EXPEC-Advanced Research Center where the next generation of oil-production technology is being developed.

• A question-and-answer session with Saudi Aramco's President & CEO

Rub' Al-Khali: A New Frontier

• Visit and tour of Saudi Aramco Shaybah facilities:

In the heart of the austere beauty of the Rub' Al-Khali sits the 500,000 barrel-per-day Shaybah oil production facility, with all the amenities of home.
