Riyadh.- With a view to spread both the benefits of the Full Oil Sovereignty Policy the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is advancing and the outstanding role of Venezuela in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) is taking part in the International Exhibition that is held within the framework of the Third OPEC Summit in Riyadh, capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Renowned Venezuelan experts with the People's Minister of Energy and Petroleum have been in PDVSA's stand to explain visitors what are the axis of action and the major projects the Venezuelan oil firm has.
Angel González, director general of Hydrocarbon Exploration and Production, People's Minister of Energy and Petroleum, elaborated on the objectives PDVSA intends to accomplish by taking part in the exhibition. "We are here to show to the world what is Venezuela's policy to relaunch the OPEC and how we have managed to strengthen our Full Oil Sovereignty Policy -which is basically aimed at the adequate management of non-renewable natural resources."
González stressed that the Bolivarian Government would continue making efforts to achieve the goals outlined in the Second OPEC Summit -held in Caracas in 2000. "Venezuela will continue tightening ties of friendship with the member countries of the Organization, as stated by President Hugo Chávez during the Second Summit, to seek fortification and consistency, thus allowing for a vital balance between consumers and producers."
Approximately 18 of the world's largest oil companies -mostly from the OPEC member countries- are taking part in the exhibition. "The reception has been great. We have exchanged knowledge in the areas of investment and development, according to each company's business plans. This has helped us gather information about new technologies that could be implemented in the domestic oil industry," said González.
Meanwhile, Pedro León, the head of the Venezuelan Petroleum Corporation (CVP), a branch of PDVSA, reminded that Venezuela has played a fundamental role in the Organization that groups the oil producing countries. "We played a major role in all the aspects, because Venezuela has shown an unquestionable capacity to be a natural leader in the production of crude oil worldwide."
PDVSA has participated successfully in diverse oil and gas exhibitions throughout the world, in which the firm has demonstrated that the policy of energy cooperation boosted by the Bolivarian Government has brought brotherly countries together to secure world oil supply at a fair price.
