CITGO
CITGO Petroleum Corporation, a Delaware corporation with headquarters in Houston, refines, markets and transports gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, lubricants, petrochemicals, and other petroleum-based industrial products. CITGO has 3,700 employees and is owned by PDV America, Inc., an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary of Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA), the national oil company of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

CITGO owns and operates three highly complex crude oil refineries located in Lake Charles, La. (425,000 barrels-per-day [bpd]), Lemont, Ill., (167,000-bpd) and Corpus Christi, Texas, (157,000-bpd). These refineries process approximately 285,000 bpd of Venezuelan crudes, including supplies from Orinoco Oil Belt upgraders. CITGO’s combined aggregate crude oil refining capacity of 749,000-bpd positions it as one of the largest refiners in the nation. The company owns and/or operates 48 petroleum product terminals, one of the largest networks in the country.

In 2012, CITGO sold a total 14.7 billion gallons of refined products. The company markets motor fuels to independent marketers who consistently rate CITGO as one of the best branded supplier companies in the industry. CITGO branded marketers sell motor fuels through nearly 6,000 branded retail outlets.

CITGO markets jet fuel directly to airlines and produces a variety of agricultural, automotive, industrial and private label lubricants which are sold to independent distributors, mass marketers and industrial customers as well as other clients. In addition, the company sells petrochemicals and industrial products directly to various manufacturers and industrial companies throughout the United States.

 

RUHR OEL GMBH
PDVSA runs 50 % of this company in association with Veba Oel, which has four refineries, that makes it the biggest company refining oil products in Germany. It has a one million-barrel refining capacity per day, of which around 250,000 belong to the Venezuelan corporation.

Besides this, RUHR OEL GMBH provides the German market with 20% of its by-products and petrochemicals needs.

AB NYNÄS PETROLEUM
PDVSA and the Finnish Neste Corporation are partners, with a share 50% each of the corporation AB NYNÄS PETROLEUM, which runs refineries in Sweden, Belgium and The United Kingdom.
Through its association with AB Nynäs, PDVSA is increasing its participation in asphalt market in Western Europe. This company runs two refineries, one in Sweden (Nynasshamn), another one in Belgium (Antwerp); and two refineries in The UK, in Dundee, Scotland, and Eastham, England.
On average 30,000 barrels of crude oil per day are manufactured there.

ISLA
Located in Curacao, this PDVSA?s affiliate, which has a storing terminal, works under a long-term lease agreement with the government of the island since it started operations in 1985. Isla refines 335,000 crude oil barrels per day, which are then sent mainly to the American, Central American and Caribbean markets.

The Bahamas Oil Refining Company International Limited (BORCO) was purchased by PDVSA in 1990 and runs a terminal with 20 million barrels crude oil and products.
